Originally sold as a durable working man's shoe, in the 70s and 80s the style became popular with political protesters, and as a fashion item at universities across Britain. This 1461 shoe stays true to the original and features a hardwearing premium leather upper, classic 3-eye fastening and Dr. Martens durable welted construction, finished with our ultra comfortable AirWair technology and slip-resistant sole.

Material

Smooth leather is as classic as it gets: with us from the beginning, it is famously tough and can be buffed up to a high shine or artfully scuffed up.

Care Instructions

Wipe away dirt using a damp cloth. Apply a neutral or correct colored wax based shoe polish. Buff with a Dr. Martens Shoe Brush to restore shine as desired.

Construction

This is a Goodyear-welted product. The upper and sole are heat-sealed and sewn together, not merely glued like many footwear constructions.
